Job summary

Orion Placement in New York, NY seeks an experienced litigation paralegal or legal assistant to join a sophisticated team handling personal injury, civil, commercial, and employment matters. You will draft, organize, and file documents; manage discovery, case files, deadlines; coordinate with clients and experts; and support trial preparation in a fast-paced environment.

This in-office role offers salary range $80,000 to $110,000 per year, along with discretionary bonuses and merit-based growth

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation paralegal or legal assistant experience.
• Experience supporting complex litigation matters and managing deadlines.
• Familiarity with discovery, legal document preparation, and state or federal court filings.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
• Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, proofread, and edit briefs, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
• Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, evidence, and critical deadlines.
• Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
• Handle electronic court filings in state and federal courts using E-Courts, PACER, and related systems.
• Support attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, client communications, and overall case strategy.
• Prepare settlement packages, trial binders, exhibits, and materials for hearings and trials.
• Track billable time accurately and assist with invoicing when needed.
• Manage multiple cases and priorities while maintaining strong follow-up and responsiveness.
• Provide additional litigation support and work occasional overtime when deadlines or court requirements demand it.
