Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a paralegal with 3+ years of personal injury experience to support NY cases in a fully on-site office. You will manage electronic case files, file pleadings, and assist attorneys with discovery and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of personal injury paralegal experience handling New York cases.
• Strong knowledge of NYS and NYC statutes, court rules, and litigation procedures.
• Experience with New York electronic court filing systems.
• Strong understanding of personal injury litigation and case development.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with a legal team.
• NYS Notary Public license or willingness to obtain one.
• SmartAdvocate experience is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage organized electronic case files and track critical litigation deadlines and statutes of limitations.
• Prepare and assist with legal documents including Notices of Claim, Summons and Complaints, Bills of Particulars, discovery demands and responses, Notes of Issue, subpoenas, and trial materials.
• Electronically file pleadings and other legal documents in accordance with NYS and NYC court requirements.
• Prepare demand packages and assist attorneys with discovery, case development, and litigation preparation.
• Coordinate case information, documentation, and deadlines to keep matters progressing efficiently.
• Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, and other case participants.
• Provide dependable day-to-day litigation support while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Protect confidential client information and deliver a professional, empathetic, client-first experience.
