Job Description
- Draft, review, proofread, and edit briefs, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
- Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, evidence, and critical deadlines.
- Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
- Handle electronic court filings in state and federal courts using E-Courts, PACER, and related systems.
- Support attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, client communications, and overall case strategy.
- Prepare settlement packages, trial binders, exhibits, and materials for hearings and trials.
- Track billable time accurately and assist with invoicing when needed.
- Manage multiple cases and priorities while maintaining strong follow-up and responsiveness.
- Provide additional litigation support and work occasional overtime when deadlines or court requirements demand it.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal or legal assistant experience.
- Experience supporting complex litigation matters and managing case-related deadlines.
- Familiarity with discovery, legal document preparation, and state or federal court filings.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Excellent organization, time management, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Professional, responsive, and detail-oriented approach to attorneys and clients.
- Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience with legal document management, billing, or practice management systems is a plus.
