Job summary

The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law is seeking a Paralegal in Washington, DC. You will support litigation, education, advocacy, and policy projects, working closely with project teams and attorneys.

Responsibilities include organizing case files and discovery, cite-checking, filing briefs, and coordinating depositions, hearings, and travel. Requires two years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; notary readiness optional.

Qualifications

  • Two years of related experience, preferably as a litigation paralegal.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to travel as needed.
  • Strong research skills and proficiency with online resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage case files, dockets, litigation calendars, and ECF/PACER accounts.
  • Review and edit filings, including tables of authorities and contents.
  • Organize discovery requests and coordinate depositions and meetings.
  • Support editing, production, and filing of briefs and exhibits, with proper cite-checking.
  • Assist attorneys with hearings, trials, and related proceedings.
  • Maintain calendars for project and case teams and update project pages.
