Qualifications

• Minimum four years in a legal setting performing paralegal or legal research duties.
• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification with 3+ years’ relevant experience.
• Commitment to civil liberties, social justice, and equity.
• Ability to work collaboratively and respect diverse perspectives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches when engaging with communities.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, and motions.
• File motions and pleadings in state and federal courts, including cite-checking and tables.
• Prepare and serve complaints, filings, and discovery.
• Assist in discovery processes, document review, and deposition prep.
• Maintain case files, calendars, and litigation deadlines.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes and judicial decisions.
• Interview clients and witnesses and summarize statements as needed.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation and attendance at hearings.
