Job description

We strive to be enterprising, respectful, inclusive, insightful, and tenacious in every aspect of our business, including our interactions with clients, colleagues, and the communities where we have a presence. We rely on these core values to serve clients in key practice areas and industries - the pillars of Brown Rudnick: crisis management, which includes restructuring, investigations, and special situations; global litigation; life sciences; technology; and brand and reputation management.

We are looking for an exceptional Paralegal to support attorneys in the firm's White Collar & Investigations practice. The Paralegal will work on sophisticated government investigations, internal investigations, enforcement matters, complex litigation, and related regulatory and criminal matters. This position will work closely with attorneys, experts, vendors, and other members of the litigation support team and will be expected to independently manage significant aspects of complex matters.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about their work and have substantial law firm experience supporting complex litigations or White Collar investigations. Strong organizational and project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are critical in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned matters and related projects, taking ownership of key paralegal workstreams from matter inception through resolution.
  • Support attorneys in government investigations, internal investigations, enforcement matters, complex commercial litigation, and other White Collar matters.
  • Assist with responses to government subpoenas, civil investigative demands, grand jury subpoenas, document requests, and other formal requests for information.
  • Coordinate internally with Practice Support and manage large-scale document productions.
  • Work closely with attorneys, clients, eDiscovery vendors, forensic consultants, investigators, and Practice Support to coordinate all aspects of electronic discovery and information management.
  • Maintain detailed document, custodian, collection, production, privilege, and issue-tracking logs.
  • Assist attorneys with document review, including organization of potentially responsive, privileged, confidential, and highly sensitive materials.
  • Prepare materials for attorney review, including document chronologies, factual timelines, key-document summaries, witness files, investigative memoranda, and other case materials.
  • Assist with preparation for witness interviews, depositions, hearings, and other investigative or litigation proceedings.
  • Draft, prepare, organize, and file documents for service and electronic filing in federal and state courts and, where applicable, with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor court and agency dockets and maintain accurate matter calendars, deadlines, and status reports.
  • Research procedural rules in connection with federal, state, and local court filings.
  • Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibit organization, witness materials, and logistical coordination, as appropriate to the matter.
  • Perform cite-checking, proofreading, Bluebook review, and quality control of pleadings, investigative materials, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures and client requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and increase efficiency across matters.
Skills & Experience
  • At least 5-7 years of litigation paralegal experience in a sophisticated law firm environment, with substantial experience supporting complex litigations, White Collar, investigations, or other complex, document-intensive matters.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification and experience.
  • Expertise with eDiscovery platforms including Reveal and Relativity.
  • Proficiency with Westlaw, including CoCounsel and Westlaw AI Deep Research, and Lexis.
  • Strong understanding of the litigation and investigations lifecycle, including document collection, review, privilege, production, witness preparation, and matter management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed, and travel occasionally in support of matters.
