We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support all attorneys at the firm, with direct reporting to the assigned attorney on each case. Responsibilities include:
- Opening, organizing, and maintaining case files
- Requesting and compiling medical records and bills
- Conducting legal research and thorough document review to support case development
- Drafting routine legal documents, including correspondence, discovery requests, motions, pleadings, and subpoenas
- Maintaining regular communication with clients throughout the case lifecycle
- Assisting in the preparation for client meetings, depositions, mediations, and trials
- Attending initial client consultations as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Experience with case management software (preferred but not required)
