Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a busy Orlando insurance defense team. You will manage multiple case files, assist with discovery, pleadings, and trial preparation, and coordinate with attorneys, clients, and experts in a deadline-driven environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of paralegal experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office and case management software, enabling proactive, detail-oriented support throughout all litigation

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of paralegal experience in litigation.
  • Understanding of the litigation process and insurance defense.
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial prep.
  • Familiarity with state and/or federal filing procedures.
  • Strong legal terminology and procedure knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Comfort with electronic court filing systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple active matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys throughout insurance defense litigation.
  • Manage and maintain assigned case files from inception to resolution.
  • Assist with case preparation, discovery, pleadings, motions, and other matters.
  • Review and summarize medical records, claim files, and discovery responses.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and notices.
  • Coordinate written discovery including interrogatories and requests for production.
  • Track discovery deadlines, court dates, statutes, and deadlines.
  • Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Prepare deposition materials, exhibits, and witness files.
  • Organize exhibits and supporting documentation for depositions and trials.
  • Coordinate deposition scheduling and logistics with involved parties.
  • Arrange independent medical exams and other consultations.
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, courts, and experts.
  • Review correspondence and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Support legal research and factual investigations as directed.
  • Prepare case summaries and litigation timelines for attorney review.
  • Monitor activity and alert attorneys to upcoming deadlines.
  • Electronically file pleadings with state and federal courts.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files.
  • Assist with trial prep, including exhibits and notebooks.
  • Support settlement and mediation preparation with relevant docs.
  • Maintain current, organized case activity records.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a busy and collaborative legal team for our client in Orlando, FL. This position is ideal for a paralegal who understands the demands of insurance defense litigation and can independently manage the day-to-day needs of multiple cases while working closely with attorneys. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment. Strong judgment, communication skills, and the ability to anticipate attorney needs are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys throughout all stages of insurance defense litigation
  • Manage and maintain assigned case files from inception through resolution
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, discovery, pleadings, motions, and other litigation matters
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records, claim files, discovery responses, and other case-related documentation
  • Assist with drafting and preparing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Coordinate and assist with written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and responses
  • Track discovery deadlines, court dates, statutes, and other critical case deadlines
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Prepare deposition materials, exhibits, chronologies, witness files, and other litigation support materials
  • Organize and maintain exhibits and supporting documentation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial
  • Assist with deposition scheduling and coordinate logistics with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, court reporters, and other parties
  • Coordinate independent medical examinations, inspections, expert consultations, and other litigation-related appointments
  • Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, courts, experts, medical providers, and other third parties as appropriate
  • Review case correspondence and incoming documentation and ensure appropriate follow-up
  • Assist with legal research and factual investigation as directed by attorneys
  • Prepare case summaries, status reports, litigation timelines, and other materials for attorney review
  • Monitor case activity and proactively communicate upcoming deadlines and outstanding items to attorneys
  • Electronically file pleadings and other legal documents with state and federal courts
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, pleadings, discovery, and trial notebooks
  • Assist attorneys with settlement and mediation preparation, including compiling relevant case information and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of case activity and ensure files remain current and organized
  • Handle confidential client, medical, financial, and litigation information with discretion
  • Manage multiple cases and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Provide additional support to attorneys and the legal team as needed
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of paralegal experience required
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process and insurance defense practices
  • Experience assisting with discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Familiarity with state and/or federal court filing procedures
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and litigation procedures
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong proofreading and document preparation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Comfortable working with electronic court filing systems
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and summarize large volumes of case information
  • Ability to independently prioritize assignments and manage multiple active matters
