Job summary

Boies Schiller Flexner LLP in New York City seeks an entry-level litigation paralegal to support our anti-counterfeiting team. You will assist attorneys on cases through all phases of litigation and manage a broad range of projects.

Responsibilities include case calendaring, document management, drafting and filing court papers with proper citations, assisting with discovery, researching facts and law, and preparing for depositions and trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 1–2 years of litigation or IP paralegal experience and/or a paralegal certificate are a plus.
• Knowledge of NYC and Federal court rules and procedures preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Job description

Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, a national law firm with a preeminent trial practice, has an immediate opening for an entry-level litigation paralegal in our New York City office to assist our anti-counterfeiting team. The paralegal will manage a broad range of projects under the supervision of our attorneys.

Principal responsibilities will include:

• Assisting attorneys with the handling of cases during all phases of litigation;
• General case management, including case calendaring and managing deadlines, and managing case documents;
• Drafting and managing court filings, including cite and fact-checking legal briefs, confirming proper Bluebook or CSM citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices.
• Assisting with discovery, including with document collections, document reviews, and document productions;
• Conducting factual and legal research; and
• Preparing for depositions, hearings and trials.

A bachelor’s degree is required and 1-2 years of litigation or Intellectual Property paralegal experience and/or a paralegal certificate are a plus.

The candidate ideally has working knowledge of the New York City and Federal court rules and procedures, as well as trial and/or electronic discovery experience.

The candidate must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet business needs.
