Job summary

Talis Group's client, a civil defense litigation firm, seeks an organized and motivated Litigation Paralegal to support the legal team in Louisville, KY.

You'll assist across civil and commercial matters, handling document prep, case management, research, and coordination with attorneys, clients, opposing parties, and courts. Candidates should have paralegal training or equivalent experience, solid research skills, and strong attention to detail in a demanding, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting litigation matters in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures across jurisdictions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with multitasking.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel for document preparation.
  • Familiarity with Westlaw or similar legal research tools.
  • Paralegal program or certificate or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal support throughout the litigation lifecycle, from initial case development through discovery and trial preparation.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery materials, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Perform thorough legal and procedural research to assist attorneys in evaluating issues and developing case strategies.
  • Maintain and administer electronic and physical case files, ensuring materials are properly organized, labeled, indexed, and readily accessible.
  • Review and prepare legal documents with close attention to accuracy, formatting, deadlines, and applicable procedural requirements.
  • Handle a variety of administrative and case-support duties, including data entry, filing, document organization, correspondence, and preparation of legal materials.
  • Help facilitate communication and coordination among attorneys, clients, courts, and other parties involved in active matters.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Talis Group's company client, a civil defense litigation firm, is looking for an organized and motivatedLitigation Paralegalto provide comprehensive support to their legal team. The successful candidate will assist with matters spanning civil, commercial, and other specialized areas of litigation. This position involves a combination of substantive legal support, document preparation, case management, research, and administrative coordination.

The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys, clients, opposing parties, and court personnel to help keep matters progressing efficiently and in accordance with applicable procedures. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.   • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed legal research using appropriate legal research platforms and resources.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, including the capacity to handle several matters concurrently.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience preparing pleadings, discovery materials, memoranda, and professional correspondence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, for document preparation and information management.
  • Familiarity with Westlaw or comparable legal research software is preferred.
  • Completion of a paralegal program, possession of a paralegal certificate, or equivalent hands-on legal experience.
  • Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and prior experience.
