Job description

The law firm Maier Gutierrez & Associates is seeking a litigation paralegal with a focus on personal injury law. The ideal candidate will support multiple attorneys and provide outstanding service to our clients.

Responsibilities will include:

• Prepare legal documents, including complaints, answers, discovery documents, and motions, as well as mediation and arbitration briefs.
• Daily client contact and communication
• Communicating with courts and opposing counsel as needed
• Ensure all necessary documentation for trials and evidentiary hearings is obtained and organized

Preferred knowledge:

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
• Prior experience with case management software such as Smart Advocate or similar
• Experience with e-filing in all federal, state, and local courts
• Prepare, compose, and assemble documentation into proper legal format

Preferred skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work well independently as well as with a team
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong analytical skills
