As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a key role in managing case preparation, court filings, discovery, and trial support.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, legal memoranda, appellate documents, and other litigation materials.
- E-file court documents in state and federal courts while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and procedures.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations, gathering relevant information from multiple sources.
- Prepare, organize, and manage discovery documents, interrogatories, responses, pleadings, and discovery indexes.
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, witness preparation, and communications with clients, counsel, courts, and third parties.
- Prepare trial binders and organize exhibits, evidence, briefs, appendices, and other case materials.
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, organize files, and manage litigation logistics with accuracy.
- Support attorneys throughout settlement activities and perform additional case-related tasks as requested.
Must-Have Skills:
- At least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Working knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and legal procedures.
- Experience with state and federal court e-filing.
- Strong legal drafting, research, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, hearings, and critical case deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal databases, with typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a positive, professional approach.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Associate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program.
- Experience with personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related matters.
- Experience supporting trial teams with deposition summaries, exhibits, witness preparation, and settlement activities.
- Familiarity with legal case management and document management databases.
