Job summary

Gottlieb & Greenspan is a rapidly growing law firm specializing in healthcare reimbursement litigation, with NSA focus. We seek a motivated Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including document prep, filings, and client interactions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (Paralegal certification preferred) and 3+ years in high-volume civil litigation. Proficiency in PACER, NY/NJ e-filing, Bluebook rules, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and the MS Office suite is

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college is required.
  • Paralegal certification preferred, not required.
  • Minimum 3+ years' work experience in a high-volume civil litigation practice as a litigation paralegal.
  • Proficiency in PACER as well as NY/NJ e-filing and legal research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
  • Conduct legal research under attorney supervision.
  • Implement case calendaring system to track filings and distribute information.
  • Perform all elements of case management, including electronic file management, discovery, and schedule tracking.
  • Regularly interact with clients, courts, vendors, and other law firms.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions; assist with logistics for motion hearings and exhibit prep.
  • Assist with compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules.
  • Assist with trial prep and provide support during trials; prepare exhibits and supporting materials.
  • Draft, format, and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities for appellate filings.
  • Assist attorneys with appellate filings and related materials.

We are seeking a motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including legal document preparation, communication with insurance companies and medical offices, and meticulous tracking of information.

As a Litigation Paralegal at Gottlieb and Greenspan, you will be an integral part of our legal team, supporting attorneys in all aspects of litigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
  • Conduct legal research under attorney supervision.
  • Implement case calendaring system to track filings and appropriately distribute information.
  • Perform all elements of case management, including electronic file management, discovery, and schedule tracking.
  • Regularly interact with clients and other external entities, including courts, corporations, vendors, and other law firms.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions; assist with logistics for motion hearings, including document and exhibit preparation.
  • Assist with compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules.
  • Assist with trial preparation and providing support during trials; prepare trial exhibits and relevant supporting materials. Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
  • Draft, format, and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities for appellate briefs, motions, and other court filings.
  • Assist attorneys with appellate filings, including preparation of briefs, appendices, records on appeal, and compliance with appellate court rules.
  • Review briefs and filings for conformity with court‑specific formatting, citation, and procedural requirements.
  • Coordinate preparation and filing of Notices of Appeal, appellate motions, and related documents.
  • Manage e‑filing through court electronic filing systems, including monitoring filing confirmations and docket activity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required.
  • Paralegal certification preferred, not required.
  • Minimum 3+ years' work experience in a high-volume civil litigation practice as a litigation paralegal.
  • Proficiency in PACER as well as NY/NJ e‑filing.
  • Proficiency in cite‑checking and Bluebook rules, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat in a legal setting.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience developing and maintaining processes to organize and maintain electronic case files.
  • Experience in coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including vendor and facility coordination.
  • Significant experience with all stages of Federal litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, collaborative outlook, and strong interpersonal skills.

Salary Range:$70,000-95,000 / year, commensurate with experience
