Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Michigan in good standing.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in litigation, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate matters.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation, disputes, government inquiries, settlements, and outside counsel relationships.
• Experience advising executive leadership and Human Resources on employment law and workplace compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage company litigation, receivership disputes, subpoenas, government complaints, settlements, and related proceedings.
• Serve as the primary legal contact for litigation and dispute matters and coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Direct litigation administration including matter intake, budgeting, reporting, tracking, document management, and deadlines.
• Advise on legal compliance, governance, licensing, permitting, entity management, and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain corporate records and organizational compliance documentation for all entities.
• Partner with HR on labor and employment matters and regulatory compliance.
• Lead risk management initiatives including insurance strategy, incident response, and crisis management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain legal policies, playbooks, and contract management resources.
• Coordinate with courts, government agencies, insurers, clients, lenders, vendors, tenants, and other third parties.
• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to support objectives.
