Job summary

Shook, Hardy & Bacon seeks a Docketing Specialist to provide multi-jurisdictional litigation calendaring and docketing services for its teams using the firm’s docketing software. The role requires deep knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and strong data management skills, with preference for experience in BEC Docket Enterprise.

The position involves reviewing documents for deadlines, creating calendars, responding to requests, and maintaining docketing documentation.

Qualifications

• Two years of litigation docketing experience and/or training or an Associate's degree.
• Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and electronic research of court dockets.
• Knowledge of department and client guidelines, practices and procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with high quality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Review documents for relevant dates and enter deadlines into the docketing system.
• Create, review and distribute calendar and case reports.
• Respond to requests from litigation team regarding docketed events and rules.
• Identify docketing anomalies and research to resolve issues.
• Assist in investigating docket issues and implementing solutions.
• Document docketing processes, guidelines and practices.
• Provide backup support to client service and legal operations staff.
• Stay updated on best practices and docketing systems to improve efficiency.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
