The role centers on technology, content moderation, platform governance and AI regulation within high-stakes investigations and enforcement matters.

The successful candidate will conduct legal research, draft memoranda and briefs, manage significant workstreams, and collaborate with attorneys across offices on sophisticated technology

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school (must be admitted or eligible for admission)

Litigation & Regulatory Investigations Associate (Technology, Content Moderation & AI)

Our client, an elite international law firm, is seeking a midlevel associate (3-6 years) to join its litigation and regulatory investigations team in either New York or San Francisco.

This is a unique opportunity for an attorney interested in the rapidly evolving intersection of technology, content moderation, platform regulation, artificial intelligence, and regulatory enforcement. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge investigations, regulatory matters, and litigation involving some of the most significant legal and policy issues affecting technology companies today.

Responsibilities

• Represent technology companies in litigation, regulatory investigations, and enforcement matters
• Advise clients on issues involving:
  • Content moderation
  • Platform governance and regulation
  • Artificial intelligence regulation and compliance
  • Online safety requirements
  • Consumer protection and technology-related enforcement matters
• Conduct legal research and analysis relating to emerging technology laws and regulations
• Draft memoranda, briefs, client advisories, and regulatory submissions
• Manage significant workstreams in investigations and litigation matters
• Engage directly with clients and serve as a key member of matter teams
• Monitor and analyze evolving domestic and international regulatory developments affecting technology platforms and AI systems
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas on complex technology matters

Qualifications

• Admission to practice in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility for admission
• 3-6 years of litigation, investigations, or regulatory enforcement experience
• Experience handling technology-focused investigations, litigation, or regulatory matters
• Strong academic credentials

• Strong client management and project leadership abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively on sophisticated matters
• General technology fluency and interest in emerging technology issues

Preferred Experience

Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• FTC investigations and enforcement matters
• Section 230 issues
• Artificial intelligence governance and regulation
• Online safety and platform regulation
• Technology compliance and risk management

Knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks, including:

• Emerging U.S. state and federal AI regulations
• Online safety regulations
• EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
• EU AI Act

• Other global technology regulatory frameworks

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $260,000 - $390,000 annually
• Compensation determined based on location, experience, and qualifications
