Job summary

Thompson Law LLP in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a litigation attorney to own a personal injury docket and try cases with senior trial lawyers. You will handle depositions, motions, and trials, mentored by seasoned trial attorneys, with a team of paralegals and support staff.

You will manage cases from filing to resolution, work with medical records specialists to build damages models, and drive settlements and trial outcomes while growing as a trial lawyer within a national firm.

Qualifications

• Texas license to practice law in good standing.
• 3-8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of active litigation.
• Solid command of Texas civil procedure and evidence; experience drafting pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motions.
• Willingness to try cases; prior trial experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear, persuasive communication with clients, counsel, and judges.
• Proficiency with legal research databases, case management software, and litigation tech.
• Desire to advocate for injured people and maximize recoveries.

Responsibilities

• Own a docket of personal injury cases from filing through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions; take and defend depositions.
• Collaborate with medical records specialists to build damages models.
• Second-chair and first-chair jury trials; participate in hearings and mediations.
• Value cases, prepare demand packages, and negotiate with insurers.
• Lead and support your litigation paralegals and assistants.
• Advise clients with clarity and compassion on strategy and progress.
• Grow as a trial lawyer by taking on increasing responsibilities.
