Role Description

The Litigation Attorney will handle a broad range of civil litigation matters, including case assessment, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and managing cases from inception through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials; communicating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel; and developing cost-effective litigation strategies aligned with client goals. The attorney will be expected to maintain organized case files, meet deadlines, and collaborate with colleagues while exercising independent judgment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Tampa, FL.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in law, including civil litigation procedures, evidence, and applicable state and federal rules.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions, including dispositive and procedural motions, with clear and persuasive written advocacy.
• Background working with courts at the state and federal level, including managing hearings, conferences, and compliance with court orders.
• Demonstrated trial experience, such as preparing witnesses, presenting evidence, and conducting direct and cross-examinations.
• Proficiency in handling depositions, including examining fact and expert witnesses and preparing clients and witnesses.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Florida, in good standing.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a small-team environment.
• Strong professional communication skills, including client counseling and collaboration with colleagues and support staff.
• Prior civil litigation, particularly 3rd party defense, experience is strongly preferred.
