Job summary

LHH is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney for a civil defense firm in Downtown Los Angeles. This contract or contract-to-hire role offers hybrid work with three days onsite and immediate involvement in active cases.

Candidates should have a J.D., California Bar in good standing, at least 2 years of civil litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters. Opportunities for contract or permanent placement available.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Excellent legal writing and research skills; law review experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and efficiently.
• Experience handling depositions, discovery disputes, and court appearances.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage civil litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Draft high-quality briefs, motions, and discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Handle discovery disputes, including drafting motions to compel and protective orders.
• Conduct meet and confer communications and manage discovery compliance.

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire, Hybrid (3 days onsite)

LHH is working with a well-established civil litigation defense firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to step into active cases and contribute immediately.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage civil litigation cases from inception through resolution
• Draft high-quality legal briefs, motions, and discovery (strong writing skills required; law review experience highly preferred)
• Take and defend depositions
• Handle discovery disputes, including drafting motions to compel and protective orders
