Job summary
Anderson Legal Group, PC in Virginia Beach, Newport News, Williamsburg, and Gloucester seeks a Litigation Associate to join our team. You will litigate cases in court, negotiate settlements, conduct legal research, draft pleadings, attend client meetings, represent clients in mediation and arbitration, and prepare for trials.
The ideal candidate will be admitted to the Virginia State Bar with 1–3 years of experience, strong research and writing skills, and a demonstrated interest in litigation.
Qualifications
- Admission to Virginia State Bar
- Recent law school graduate or attorney with a minimum 1-3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and a strong desire to develop your skills in this practice area.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
Responsibilities
- Litigate cases in court on behalf of clients
- Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing parties
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions
- Attend client meetings and provide legal advice and guidance
- Represent clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings
- Prepare for and participate in trials and hearings
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on complex cases
