Job summary

Spencer West LLP in New York is seeking a talented Litigation Associate to join our growing litigation practice. The role offers direct client contact, significant responsibility, and exposure to complex commercial matters across securities, governance, and cross-border disputes.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years' experience at a top-tier firm, strong writing and advocacy skills, and eligibility to practice in New York. Hybrid work model and competitive compensation are provided.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
• Eligibility to appear before New York state and federal courts.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare strategic legal analysis.
• Support SEC investigations, regulatory inquiries, and compliance matters.
• Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Assist with corporate governance, securities, and transactional matters as required.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, regulators, and courts.
• Collaborate with lawyers across Spencer West's global platform.
• Develop business and client relationship skills through the firm's Associate Development Programme.
