Job summary

Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP is seeking an associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our Litigation team in the Oakland office. This position follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days per week in the Oakland office.

The ideal candidate will have civil litigation experience, support partners in all phases of litigation, conduct legal research, manage deadlines, and participate in client interviews, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably civil matters.
• Licensed to practice in California (CA Bar).
• Experience supporting partners and senior attorneys in all phases of litigation.

Responsibilities

• Assist partners and senior attorneys in case assessment, discovery, motions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive issues.
• Manage case deadlines and filings to ensure compliance with procedural rules.
• Participate in client interviews, witness preparation, depositions, and mediations.
