Position Title: Litigation Associate

A prestigious global law firm is seeking a talented Litigation Associate to join its Commercial Litigation, Dispute Resolution, and Restructuring practice in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, including matters involving brand and reputation management. The Litigation Associate will handle sophisticated discovery, conduct legal research, draft and argue motions, take and defend depositions, and contribute to trial preparation and litigation strategy.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, collaborative attorney with 4–5 years of commercial litigation experience, strong legal writing and advocacy skills, and a desire to build a long-term career within a highly respected litigation practice.

Salary Range: $275,000 - $330,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Manage key phases of complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters
• Conduct written and document discovery, including drafting discovery requests, reviewing documents, and preparing responses
• Perform comprehensive legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and dispositive and nondispositive motions
• Draft and argue motions in court proceedings
• Take and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation
• Support trial preparation, case strategy, and courtroom proceedings
• Handle sophisticated disputes involving commercial interests, brand protection, and reputational matters
• Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and litigation teams to develop effective legal strategies
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic guidance throughout the litigation process

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• 4–5 years of substantive commercial litigation experience
• Active California Bar admission
• Experience conducting discovery, drafting and arguing motions, preparing witnesses, and taking and defending depositions
• Hands-on experience managing significant phases of complex, high-stakes commercial disputes
• Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience within a large or established law firm handling sophisticated litigation matters
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a demanding legal environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to professional growth
• Experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants preferred
• Federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred
• Experience handling brand and reputational disputes preferred
