Commercial Litigation Associate

Location: Los Angeles, CA

A well-regarded California firm is seeking a litigation associate to join its Los Angeles office. The team handles a broad range of complex commercial disputes and offers associates meaningful responsibility, strong advocacy exposure, and a clear path to progression within a collaborative litigation department.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle commercial litigation matters including breach of contract, tortious interference, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery with precision and strong analytical focus.
• Take and defend depositions and argue motions.
• Prepare matters for trial and support trial teams as cases progress.
• Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues while managing discrete workstreams independently.
• Support matters involving intellectual property disputes where applicable.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of broad-based litigation experience in a law firm environment.
• Strong academic credentials with excellent research, writing, and drafting skills.
• Confident oral advocate with experience in motion practice and depositions.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused.
• Experience in intellectual property litigation is a plus but not required.
• Member of the California Bar (required).

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $250,000 – $275,000 DOE

Total Compensation: Associates meeting performance thresholds can expect total compensation in the range of $385,000 – $425,000, inclusive of discretionary bonuses, with additional origination-based incentives available.
