GOHRSolutions is partnering with a respected South Carolina litigation firm to identify a Litigation Attorney focused on medical malpractice defense, with exposure to professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation.

The ideal candidate has 2-6 years of civil litigation experience, will handle depositions, court appearances and client relationships with mentorship from seasoned litigators, and grow into independent management of a caseload.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
• 2-6 years of post-bar civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling litigation matters, including depositions and court appearances.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and research skills.
• Writing sample required.
• Ability to work full-time in the Greenville, South Carolina office.

Responsibilities

• Manage medical malpractice defense cases from initial discovery through resolution.
• Assist with professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation matters as needed.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy recommendations.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court for hearings and other proceedings.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Assist with trial preparation, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
• Progress toward independently managing a litigation caseload with continued mentorship and support.

Position Summary

The Litigation Attorney will primarily focus on medical malpractice defense matters while also gaining exposure to professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation.
