Job summary

Cozen O'Connor is seeking an attorney with at least four years of litigation experience to join our Subrogation & Recovery Department in Denver. Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Colorado.
• Minimum four years of litigation experience.
• Experience in subrogation, property loss, or insurance preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in state and federal courts throughout all phases of litigation.
• Investigate and evaluate complex property losses from fires, explosions, product failures, defects, and other events.
• Collaborate with experts to develop recovery strategies and theories.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and briefs.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare for court hearings.
• Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

Cozen O'Connor is seeking an attorney with a minimum of four years of litigation experience to join our nationally recognized Subrogation & Recovery Department in our Denver office. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with nationally recognized practitioners, gain meaningful litigation responsibility, and build a long-term career within one of the largest and most experienced Subrogation & Recovery practices in the world.

Responsibilities Include

• Representing clients in state and federal courts throughout all phases of litigation;
• Investigating and evaluating complex property losses arising from fires, explosions, product failures, construction defects, equipment failures, utility incidents, and other catastrophic events;
• Collaborating with forensic engineers, fire investigators, accountants, and other experts to develop recovery strategies;
• Drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and briefs;
• Taking and defending depositions;
• Preparing for and appearing at court hearings;
• Participating in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation; and
• Maintaining effective communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, analytical, writing, and advocacy skills and be able to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a team-oriented practice. Experience in property damage, insurance, construction, product liability, commercial litigation, or subrogation matters is preferred. An insurance background is a plus. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in Colorado.

The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $195,000 with the opportunity for a significant performance bonus and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
