Job summary

George Thomas is partnering with a leading packaging manufacturer based in Northern California seeking an experienced operations manager to lead their lithographic team at a Central Valley facility. Onsite presence is required, with a total compensation salary of $130,000-$180,000.

The role emphasizes strategic and operational leadership, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across multiple shifts, driving KPI improvements and teaming with cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least five years’ experience leading manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in packaging, printing, folding carton, corrugated, or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Sheeting, Ink Management, and Lithographic Printing functions across shifts.
• Create a culture prioritizing safety, quality, teamwork and operational excellence in daily activities.
• Lead, coach and develop frontline leaders and production teams for high performance and accountability.
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, waste, uptime, quality and equipment effectiveness; drive improvements.
• Champion Lean, 5S, TPM and other operational excellence initiatives to improve throughput and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with Planning, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance to meet targets.
• Support workforce planning, talent development and performance management activities.
