Job summary

Potterville Public Schools invites applications for an MS/HS Library Technician dedicated to literacy intervention and instructional support for identified at-risk students. This role collaborates with classroom teachers and the certified librarian to strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, and access to texts.

Primary duties include organizing library resources, supporting MTSS literacy pathways, and providing direct student support with targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting.
• Preferred: experience supporting literacy intervention or reading development.
• Familiarity with MTSS or intervention systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct literacy intervention and instructional support to identified at risk students.
• Support reading comprehension, annotation, summarizing, vocabulary development, and engagement with classroom texts.
• Reinforce teacher directed literacy strategies and academic goals.
• Assist students in accessing appropriately leveled and high interest reading materials.
• Collaborate with teachers and intervention staff to identify literacy needs and barriers to learning.
• Maintain records of intervention services and student progress.
• Support Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy intervention efforts aligned to MTSS processes.
