Job summary

Madison Metropolitan School District seeks a Literacy Interventionist to provide direct reading support and accelerate learning for students at risk of reading difficulty. The role uses screening data to diagnose needs and deliver intensive, evidence-based interventions within a MTSS framework.

You will collaborate with teachers, participate in district professional development, and help strengthen staff capacity in literacy interventions across K-8.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; official transcripts may be requested.
• Knowledge of MTSS and reading interventions with data-driven decision making.
• Experience implementing evidence-based literacy strategies and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct literacy interventions to students above/below proficiency in reading.
• Diagnose reading needs using screening data and assessments.
• Deliver intensive, targeted interventions in small groups or one-on-one.
• Collaborate with teachers and MTSS team to monitor progress and adapt plans.
• Lead or participate in professional development on literacy and MTSS.
