Lincoln Park Public Schools in Lincoln Park, Michigan, is seeking a Literacy Coach for Raupp to support literacy instruction district-wide. The position requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate, endorsement, and at least 5 years of teaching experience. Reading Recovery training is preferred.

Literacy Coach - Raupp

And any positions that result from the filling of this posting.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes
  • Reading Recovery training preferred or willing to obtain
  • Shows knowledge of current literacy practices and strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of the components of a comprehensive literacy program and literacy strategies
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, and parents and the general public
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

DUTIES:
  • Coordinate and provide strategic instructional coaching to meet the individual needs of teachers
  • Model effective instructional strategies for teachers
  • Facilitate Study Groups
  • Train Teachers in Data Analysis and Differentiated Instruction
  • Coach and Mentor colleagues
  • Ensure Evidence Based Reading Programs
  • Train Teachers to Diagnose and Address Reading Deficiencies
  • Work with teachers in applying evidence based Reading Strategies in other content areas
  • Work frequently with pupils in whole and small group instruction or tutoring in the contents of modeling and coaching in or outside of teachers' classrooms
  • Increase Instructional Density
  • Help Lead and support Reading Leadership Teams
  • Model and Train teachers in accordance with Lincoln Park Schools instructional philosophy and curriculum
  • Model Small and Whole Group Instruction
  • Train new hires before school starts

Will not serve as a function in any administrative capacity
