Job summary

Dilkon Medical Center | Winslow Indian Health Care is seeking a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) to provide professional counseling to clients with alcohol and/or other substance use disorders under the supervision of the Chief of Mental Health Program/Psychiatrist.

The LISAC will coordinate services with tribal, state, county and private providers, work with Navajo Nation DBHS to assure referrals to residential treatment programs, and support aftercare planning with

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavioral science required.
• Licensure as LISAC by AZ Board or equivalent in another state/territory.
• Bilingual English/Navajo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to clients with alcohol/other substance use disorders and their families.
• Coordinate services with tribal, state, county, and private programs; liaise with law enforcement/judicial system as needed.
• Engage in prevention and intervention activities with Navajo Nation DBHS and WIHCC staff.
• Plan aftercare and coordinate referrals for residential treatment when appropriate.
• Assess co-occurring mental health conditions and refer for ongoing management.
• Document care in WIHCC EHR per CMS and accreditation standards.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call crisis coverage and departmental meetings.
