Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Analyst for the Southlake Campus. The LIS Analyst is responsible for the overall health through maintenance and change management of the Laboratory Information System infrastructure to ensure reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information systems or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in laboratory information systems or healthcare IT.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to mentor and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Instructs, orients and mentors students, employees, residents and physicians for information system applications.
• Participates in system upgrades, enhancements and new acquisitions of laboratory information systems.
• Designs, installs, validates, tests, trains, documents and migrates LIS changes.
• Maintains knowledge of regulations applicable to laboratory information systems and participates in inspections.
• Supports billing, reconciles billing issues, generates reports and ensures interface viability.
• Uses SQL to develop ad hoc reports for data collection and interfaces.
• Performs database maintenance and handles LIS change requests related to laboratory information systems.
