Qualifications

• Experience with LIS and Hospital Information Systems preferred.
• Must be self-directed with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs LIS in line with CAP standards for SOPs, interfaces, data retrieval/preservation, system maintenance, auto-verification, and security.
• Plans and directs development/implementation of information storage and retrieval systems and large application systems.
• Oversees prioritization and maintenance of LIS projects and related functions.
• Assists in evaluating/implementing new technologies and development tools for applications.
• Creates/testing standards for development, documentation and validation.
• Develops documentation, policies, and procedures for LIS.
• Directs creation of technical reports, manuals, and memoranda on programming systems.
• Trains and mentors LIS staff as appropriate.
• Ensures LIS integrates with other DHR systems.
• Collaborates with hospital IT to disseminate information as needed.
• Participates in rotating on-call schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Performs related duties as required.
