Job summary

Premier Medical Group of the Hudson Valley is seeking a Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator to serve as the primary liaison between the clinical lab, IT, vendors, and leadership to ensure reliable, compliant LIS performance and optimized workflows.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, knowledge of Orchard LIS and Athena, HL7 interfaces, and experience with regulatory standards (CAP/CLIA, NYS DOH). This onsite role supports patient care across Hudson Valley sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years supporting a Laboratory Information System or clinical laboratory operations.
• Working knowledge of laboratory workflows and diagnostic testing processes.
• Experience troubleshooting software applications and technical issues.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Configure laboratory dictionaries, reference ranges, result reporting, and user permissions.
• Collaborate with lab leadership, IT, and vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
• Coordinate system upgrades, patches, testing, and new functionality.
• Design, validate, and maintain interfaces with EMR, analyzers, middleware, and reference labs.
• Perform system validation and testing for new instruments and software updates.
