Job summary

Horizon Ag-Products seeks a seasoned Plant Manager to lead its Onawa, Iowa liquid manufacturing site. You will own safety, quality, production, cost, and people outcomes, running the operation as a business rather than a simple production line.

Reporting to the Liquid Operations Manager, you will supervise up to 15 staff across blending, filling, and maintenance, building a reliable plant through disciplined daily management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Management, or related field).
• At least 7 years of experience leading a team in a regulated/process manufacturing environment.
• Experience in liquid manufacturing, blending, or related industries.
• Strong mechanical/process aptitude and cost accounting awareness (COGS, gross margin).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHSSQ programs and create a safety-focused culture.
• Ensure environmental permits compliance and zero violations.
• Own quality outcomes and drive first-pass yield improvements.
• Manage plant materials, inventory control, and production scheduling.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and ROI on capital projects.
• Drive maintenance and reliability through CMMS and planned maintenance.
