Scotts Miracle-Gro in Fort Madison, IA is seeking Machine Packaging Operators for the Liquids Manufacturing team. This hourly role follows the step pay progression and starts at $20/hr with a $0.50 shift differential, paid weekly, and with additional pay progression up to $22.05/hr as you gain experience.

The position involves operating automated liquid bottling packaging lines, learning multiple machines, and maintaining safety and quality standards on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of machine/operator experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow verbal and non-verbal directions.
• Willingness to learn multiple machines and operations.
• Team player with ability to work across shifts.
• Availability to work any shift and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety rules and participate in safety rotations.
• Operate automated machinery for liquid bottling packaging.
• Learn multiple machines and move between them daily.
• Feed components onto conveyors and replenish items to maintain production.
• Assemble packaging components such as sprayers, caps, boxes.
• Clean, lubricate, adjust equipment and reconfigure lines for runs.
• Communicate production line performance to peers and supervisors.
• Look for methods to improve line output and efficiency.
• Perform manufacturing inspections to ensure quality standards.
