Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro in Ft. Madison, IA is seeking a Machine Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift (M-F, 10p-6:30am). The role involves operating liquid bottling packaging machinery and keeping production lines on schedule at a fast pace.

Starting pay is $22.05 per hour with weekly pay. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) matching up to 7.5%, stock purchase options, wellness reimbursements and family-support programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of machine operator or similar experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Basic math skills and ability to adjust equipment to meet specs.
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
• Willingness to learn multiple machines or operations.
• Must be a team player and support production lines across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate packaging machines and load components.
• Follow plant safety rules and participate in safety rotations.
• Operate automated machinery for liquid bottling packaging to meet schedules.
• Learn multiple machines and move between equipment daily.
• Feed components and replenish materials to keep production running.
• Assemble packaging parts and perform line maintenance as needed.
• Communicate performance to peers and supervisors.
• Suggest improvements to enhance line output and efficiency.
• Perform quality inspections on liquid packaging products.
