Job description

Liquid Cooling Systems Engineer | Data Centers

Location: Remote, United States | Nationwide Travel 75%

Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 Base + Benefits

The Opportunity

The rapid growth of AI and high-performance computing is fundamentally changing how data centers are designed, built and cooled.

We're partnering with a specialist engineering consultancy at the forefront of this transition, supporting the deployment and commissioning of next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure across some of the most advanced data center projects in the United States.

As a Liquid Cooling Systems Engineer, you'll play an important role in ensuring complex cooling and fluid distribution systems are installed, commissioned and brought into operation safely and reliably.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in data center mechanical infrastructure, hydronic systems, cooling plant or commissioning who wants to develop their expertise in the rapidly growing liquid cooling market.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the installation, commissioning, startup and operational readiness of liquid cooling and water-based cooling infrastructure across major data center projects.
  • Oversee and assess mechanical and fluid system activities, including flushing, filling, purging and system cleanliness.
  • Review installation quality and identify potential issues relating to pipework, pumps, valves, fluid distribution and cooling system performance.
  • Work alongside mechanical contractors, commissioning teams, engineering consultants and data center operators to ensure project quality and readiness.
  • Carry out technical inspections, document field observations and support QA/QC activities throughout construction and commissioning.
  • Identify potential mechanical, operational and procedural risks, communicating findings and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Represent the business as a trusted technical advisor on customer sites.
What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in engineers with experience across:

  • Data center mechanical infrastructure, mission-critical cooling or HVAC systems.
  • Hydronic systems, chilled water networks, process cooling or closed-loop fluid systems.
  • Mechanical commissioning, construction quality, project engineering or QA/QC.
  • Pumps, valves, piping systems, heat exchangers and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Working with mechanical contractors, engineering teams and customers during construction and commissioning.

A Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering degree would be advantageous, although candidates with substantial relevant technical experience will also be considered.

Importantly, we're looking for someone who can go beyond hands-on maintenance and bring technical judgment, project awareness and the confidence to work directly with customers and contractors.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Work directly within one of the fastest-growing areas of data center infrastructure.
  • Gain exposure to advanced liquid cooling technologies supporting AI and HPC deployments.
  • Join a specialist, growing engineering business with opportunities for professional development.
  • Work on major projects across the United States.
  • $100,000 - $120,000 + 10% bonus & comprehensive benefits, 401(k) matching and professional development support.
  • Better work-life balance: Enjoy a more predictable working week, typically around 40–45 hours, without the routine overtime or extended shifts often associated with construction and commissioning projects.
