Job summary

TALENT Software Services seeks a motivated Scientist 1 to join our Formulation team in San Diego. You will help synthesize and optimize lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery, working closely with senior scientists in a hands-on lab environment.

The role emphasizes LNP encapsulation, DoE-driven optimization, thorough data analysis, and cross-functional support for early-stage development. Strong detail orientation and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years biopharma experience, OR Master’s with 2+ years.
• Proficiency in LNP formulation and nucleic acid encapsulation (mRNA, siRNA, or DNA).
• Experience with standard LNP characterization methods and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles for in vitro and in vivo studies.
• Implement DoE based screening campaigns to optimize LNP compositions and processing parameters.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support formulation requests.
• Support early-stage formulation development and downstream processing activities.
• Maintain detailed records of formulation activities and results.
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data to the team.
• Contribute to routine lab management such as inventory tracking and buffer preparation.
