VISTA will connect the economically disadvantaged in our community to essential services. In Laramie County public transportation is a known issue and those who are economically disadvantaged cannot make it to critical appointments, leading them to be more at risk for reduced opportunities in education, health, and overall well-being, including poorer academic performance, increased health problems, and mental health issues. The VISTA will develop internal documents and systems that assign volunteer recruitment and retention responsibilities to Lions’ staff and volunteers, external partnership engagement activities including refining processes for data collection aimed at demonstrating successes and needs.
