Job summary

LIO Insurance is seeking an Underwriter to support the development of profitable Casualty Construction business within LIO's E&S (LIO Specialty) division and help maintain relationships with wholesale partners.

Working closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Systems, Claims, and Legal functions, the incumbent supports underwriting aspects of the wholesale relationship — including market visits to present LIO's products and appetite, and the development of production and profitability

Responsibilities

  • Support brokers and insureds with questions related to eligibility, endorsements, billing, and policy information.
  • Articulate LIO's product differentiation and underwriting appetite to wholesale partners and prospective accounts.
  • Utilize underwriting systems and technology, including AI-powered tools, to support risk evaluation.
  • Review referrals and loss history to evaluate risk quality and completeness.
  • Utilize dashboards and reporting tools to help track production, losses, and areas of risk.
  • Select, price, quote, and decline new business referred by brokers in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and sound underwriting judgment.
  • Partner and maintain collaborative business relationships to develop, grow, and underwrite profitable business.
  • Participate in other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • AINS, CPCU, or other insurance designations preferred.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Expected days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As needed to develop and maintain relationships with wholesale partners.
