Job summary

USG in Chicago HQ is seeking an experienced IT infrastructure engineer to install, operate, and maintain Red Hat Linux and VMware ESXi environments on HP hardware and in Azure Cloud. You will host Oracle apps and databases and support multiple enterprise systems across data centers, HQ, and manufacturing sites.

The role requires 2–5 years in hybrid enterprise infrastructure, scripting, automation (Ansible), and strong security practices.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in hybrid enterprise infrastructure (On‑Prem & Cloud).
• Experience upgrading/patching with Red Hat Satellite.
• Automation scripting and CI/CD experience; container apps (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Security and IT controls knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate and maintain Linux/VMware environments on HPE hardware and Azure.
• Automate patching, updates, server builds and monitoring processes.
• Document procedures and update standards for systems and environments.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call production support and incident resolution.
• Monitor performance, capacity and security, and prevent downtime.
• Participate in roadmap discussions for future infrastructure improvements.
