Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting our global customer base and data center operations. The role emphasizes independent judgment for diagnosing complex system issues and implementing scalable solutions.

You will work across systems, applications, and networking layers to maintain secure, reliable environments, contribute to upgrades, and support platform expansion with engineering, operations, and data center

Qualificações

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience troubleshooting to resolve non-routine technical issues.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plus.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting web servers, databases & caching, firewalls.
• Understanding of Linux utilities, server/app architecture, security hardening, and distributed storage (Ceph).
• Knowledge of virtualization, load balancing, and core networking concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Design, configure, and implement Linux upgrades and infrastructure changes for scalability and reliability.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services; diagnose performance, stability, or security issues.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Linux issues and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to deploy data center systems and readiness.
• Perform migrations, evaluate dependencies and risks, plan execution.
• Monitor security posture and compliance with standards; apply corrective actions.
• Develop automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency; reduce manual work.
• Document system diagrams and operational standards for consistency.
