Job summary

Akina Inc. is seeking a senior SA for Fort Meade, MD to support IT system implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will handle Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues, manage day-to-day operations, and assist users in utilizing IT resources.

The role requires strong server, network, and security troubleshooting skills. The candidate will configure UNIX/Windows OS, perform system optimization, and integrate IDM with CentOS LDAP while supporting TLS.

Qualifications

• Ten years of SA experience in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of additional SA experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 escalation support for IT systems.
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems and devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across server, storage, network, and endpoint components.
• Assist users with accessing and using IT systems.

Description

Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.

Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.

Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.

Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.

Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.

Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

Provide in-depth experience in trouble‑shooting IT systems.

Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.

Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Position Required Skills

• System Administration experience with CentOS 7, Rocky 9, and RHEL 9 - Upgrading servers, workstations, laptops
• Experience with the Customer Secure the Enterprise (STE) tasks
• Experience with the Customer data transfer process
• Hardware installation experience (servers/workstations)
• Task Automation - Ansible experience - PXE boot
• Building VMs using Proxmox
• Identity Manager (IDM) experience - Integration of IDM with a CentOS LDAP server
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator
• Experience trouble shooting and configuring Transport Layer Security (TLS)
• Windows 10/11 administration

SA2 Qualifications

Ten (10) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Salary Range: $139k-$169k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
