Job summary

V2X Inc. seeks a Linux Networking Developer to design, build, and maintain Linux-based software for mission-critical aerospace and defense systems.

The role emphasizes low-level Linux development, system configuration, secure networking, and integration on embedded and restricted environments. The ideal candidate combines strong Linux internals knowledge with hands-on networking experience, and must be eligible for a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years’ experience in Linux internals, system programming, or kernel-level development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for systems development; scripting in Bash and Python.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
• Hands-on experience with Linux networking tools and debugging complex systems.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Linux-based applications and services for aerospace/defense platforms.
• Develop and integrate kernel modules, drivers, and networking daemons.
• Configure and harden Linux networking stacks (routing, DNS, VPNs, NTP, SSH).
• Implement networking protocols and middleware for mission systems and secure networks.
• Troubleshoot complex networking and kernel performance issues.
• Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python) for deployment and monitoring.
• Perform lab testing, hardware-in-the-loop work, and air-gapped integrations.
• Contribute to documentation and customer deliverables.
