Job summary

V2X is seeking a Linux Networking Developer to design, develop, and maintain Linux‑based software for aerospace and defense systems. The role involves low‑level Linux development, system configuration, secure networking, and embedded environments.

You will work with kernel modules, drivers, networking daemons, and custom Linux distributions, applying strong Linux internals knowledge and hands‑on networking expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of Linux systems/ networking experience.
• Strong Linux internals, system programming, or kernel‑level development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for systems work; Bash and Python scripting.
• Solid TCP/IP networking knowledge and experience with Linux tools.
• Experience troubleshooting Linux networking issues and performance.
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance for DoD programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Linux‑based applications and services.
• Develop kernel modules, drivers, networking daemons, and custom distros.
• Configure and harden Linux networking stacks (routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP).
• Implement networking protocols for mission systems and secure networks.
• Troubleshoot performance, packet flow, and kernel interactions.
• Create automation scripts in Bash and Python for deployment and monitoring.
• Document requirements, designs, and user manuals.
