Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions seeks a Linux DevOps Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD, with active TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance required. Telework: None. The role focuses on building and maintaining secure, scalable IT infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support mission-driven systems.

Required: Security+ certification and 10 years as a System Administrator, or 5 extra years in lieu of a degree. Strong Linux expertise, and experience with Ansible and Terraform preferred. Excellent benefits apply.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 5 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment strategies and resolve environment-related issues.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Ensure system security through firewalls, antivirus tools, and access controls.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stay current with DevOps trends.
