Job description

TSC is seeking a full time, on-siteSystem Administrator(SA)to manage multiple Information Systems (IS) in accordance with DoD/Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies. The position will require the system administrator to support existing ISs and to assist in the development and accreditation of new ISs.

This position is ideal for a passionate IT professional who wants to support an engineering team working on cutting-edge model, simulation and other technologies supporting critical US Govt. missions.

Radar Signal Processing and Simulation operations (Silver Spring location) performs design, development, and analytic evaluations of system performance as well as systems engineering for sophisticated radar, communications, and weapons systems. Join our team for an opportunity to work with our experienced and talented engineering team to provide advanced technology solutions to our government and industry customers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain computer information systems utilizing Linux operating systems
• Communicate with IS Owners (ISO) to ensure systems meet their needs
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of security documentation
• Harden systems to meet DoD security policies
• Perform system maintenance, updates, and backups
• Coordinate with government security accessors and other representatives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of science or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years systems administer experience with 3 or more years of Linux network administration
• US Citizenship
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance
• IAT Level 2 (per DoD 8570.01M)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Network Configurations and architecture
• Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software
• Knowledgeable of the Risk Management Framework and DoD 8510.01
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a small team environment
• Experience maintaining classified systems
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience building server environments
• COMSEC experience
