Job summary

Green Mountain Power is seeking a Lineworker Apprentice to develop technical skills for constructing, installing, and maintaining electric distribution systems both overhead and underground. You will work under supervision, following policies and procedures while gaining hands-on experience.

Responsibilities include pole work, equipment installation, and maintenance. You will pursue the state-approved training program and must live within 35 minutes of the district office.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and safety requirements.
• Valid Vermont driver’s license; Class A CDL within 180 days after hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and related equipment.
• Digs pole holes and assists in setting/removing poles and hardware.
• Maintain distribution poles and de-energized attachments.
• Participate in Apprentice Line Maintainer training and reporting as required.
• On-call and overtime may be required for emergencies.
