Job summary

Green Mountain Power is seeking a Lineworker Apprentice in Vermont to develop skills in constructing and maintaining electric distribution systems. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on training within GMP’s apprenticeship program.

The incumbent will climb safely, participate in the setup and maintenance of overhead and underground lines, and complete required reports and training while advancing through the lineworker classifications.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and safety requirements.
• Valid Vermont driver’s license; Class A CDL within 180 days after hire.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication; math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in constructing, installing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and equipment.
• Safely climb poles and work at heights.
• Dig pole holes and assist in setting poles and hardware.
• Maintain distribution poles and de-energized attachments.
• Enroll in and complete the state-approved apprentice program and company training.
